Kirstin creates immersive environments by combining and reimagining unconventional materials such as fire ash, water, sand, bush debris, reclaimed wood and clothing. Her large scale paintings originate from her fascination with the epic forces that occur in the natural world. All her work revolves around her concern for environmental and human crisis and the redemption found in transforming our losses. She has worked for over a decade mentoring high risk young people in protective custody and within the justice system.
Kirstin has exhibited extensively in Australia and internationally with her work being held in major collections such as the NGV, Parliament House Art Collection (Canberra), Artbank and private collections in Australia, Europe and the USA.
Kirstin lives and works on Bundjalung Country (Byron Bay, Australia) and has strong artistic connections with Tokyo and Berlin.
